Isles of Scilly

Wonderful view of the Milky Way last night at midnight from St Mary’s on Scilly. A bit of local light pollution from boat rigging but it didn’t spoil the view. It was nice to see the teapot higher in the sky and tick off a couple of globular clusters but the Milky Way was the highlight. I’m glad I brought my binoculars with me. 
 

It seemed Bortle 2 to me but light pollution map says Bortle 3 for Hugh Town.

Terrific! If only it was easier to get to! But that would probably mean more people, more light, etc, etc...
