Intriguing!  So you do like 5-second stacks on a laptop to use it as a finder?

Hi,

Its part of my 'eFinder' (https://astrokeith.com/equipment/efinder/)

Currently it takes 0.5 to 1 second exposures (depends on sky brightness) and plate solves, and then automatically moves my 18" dob on to target. Its what astrophotographers have been doing for years but applied to a big visual scope.

What's the smallest scope you have own? Also, please include performance and details (Like aperture, focal ratio etc)

Clear nights!

This image on my BAA member's page was taken with a 2.2mm f/1.8 refractor. Although taken by a friend, I own similar equipment myself.

(Yes, I know this could be regarded as cheating but nonetheless I own several ~2mm aperture short focus refractors. Apologies too, for the BAA displaying the image sideways. It was upright until the recent revamp of the site. Perhaps I should contact the webmaster.)

This is probably cheating....

Cheapy binocular objective lens screwed into a 3d printed adapter with a budget prism from a Meade ST80.

I'd like a lightweight RACI so this was a test - seems to work OK!  I'm on the look out for a second hand crosshair eyepiece and I'll then shim it to get the focus correct. MK2 will have the dovetail to fit to the scope printed in...

MiniBorg50 Ach, 50mm FL 250mm, visually nice tight stars with low CA, imaging is surprisingly good but of course could do with a flattener.

It usually serves as a guidescope.

Just a bit of fun. 12x50 monocular. A couple of years ago I fired a spring into my right eye whilst reassembling a rivet gun.. My optician tells me I've exacerbated an embryonic cataract. Since my incident I've found I can't focus a binocular perfectly to my right eye which spoils the experience a bit. This works great on my left eye😁
