Hi all,

At last I've got my first waning crescent this morning:

06_04_16_Luna_lapl5_ap1042_conv.thumb.jpg.09f70566df6f685ec30f4ab5a2ad50bd.jpg

It came out a bit pinkish, I think, even though I fiddled with the white balance with gimp.

The gear:

  • Celestron CPC 800 GPS XLT
  • Celestron f/6.3 reducer/corrector
  • Celestron 2" diagonal mirror
  • Optolong 2" UHC filter
  • ZWO ASI533MC Pro

The software:

  • SharpCap
  • Autostakkert
  • The Gimp

Thanks for looking,

NV

Lovely image. I quite like the hue but if you really wanted to neutralise it you could use the eyedropper tool (assuming GIMP works the same as PS) to read the RGB values on the background sky, then adjust your RGB levels accordingly to balance it all up.
