  1. Thanks @Fir Chlis and @Jeff-Colorado, here you have It with a little bit more stacking and slightly processed (not much, really): Thanks for watching, NV
  2. It is amazing to see how the ion tail changes from one day to the next...
  3. Today I'm trying to get more tail by increasing the exposure time from 8 to 16 seconds 🤞
  4. Hi all, A couple of days ago I was warned by SkySafari of today's Moon and Venus dawn conjunction, but I quite forgot about it almost immediatly. This morning I saw it and rushed to my trusty old Canon 600D and took this picture: Canon 600D astromodified. Canon EFS 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM. f/5.6 1/60s ISO100 250mm. Processed in RawTherapee and The Gimp. Thanks for looking, NV
  5. Thanks Kostas, this planetary season has proven to be quite challenging around here, but I had to try my new ASI662MC, which is simply amazing. Consider that my house is at almost sea level...
  6. Hi all, Despite the heat, calima and bad seeing, I had the oportunity to have a decent planetary session, taking 2 minutes captures: Even to experiment with a wee animation, leaving 5 minutes between captures: The gear: Sky-Watcher Skymax 180 PRO RB Focus Merlin 3.0 ZWO 5x1.25" Electronic Filter Wheel Astronomik L2 ZWO ASI662MC Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 The software: CdC FireCapture ToupSky Autostakkert RegiStax Fitswork The Gimp Thanks for looking, NV
  7. Hi all, I hapened to have an extension tube for a HEQ5 and another for an EQ6 and noticed that both their central tube have the same section and they only vary in the upper and lower elements to which it is attached, as you can see in the following picture: Since I wanted to have the head of my AZ-EQ6 a bit higher (and couldn't increase the height of the tripod's legs due to my obsy's lack of space) I decided to mount the longest tube, which belonged to the HEQ5 extension, together with the AZEQ6 terminals and this is how the mix looked like: So now my scopes can clear the border of the observatory in the home position, while there is room enough to close the roof when the mount is settled to the parking position: Now I need a clear night to try this setup 🤞. Regards, NV
  8. Yayyy... I think you are more adventurous than I am. Dust in the sensor is not fun. The first proper astrocamera that I bought was a Touptek GPCMOS01200KPC labelled risingcam, which has some kind of sponge material around the sensor that tends to lose bits of material. Of course, such material falls over the sensor and is quite troublesome to get rid off...
  9. Thanks @Kon, It arrived too late for the Venus season this year, though.
  10. Hi all, First light of my new ASI462MM (replacement of a GPCMOS02000KMA) . This image is with IR: This one is with the CH4: And finally with an UV/IR filter: The gear: Sky-Watcher Skymax 180 PRO RB Focus Merlin 3.0 ZWO 5x1.25" Electronic Filter Wheel Astronomik L2, Optolong IR685, ZWO CH4 ZWO ASI462MM Sky-Watcher HEQ5 The software: CdC FireCapture Autostakkert (15% drizzle 1.5) RegiStax The Gimp Thanks for looking, NV
  11. Hi @Mr Spock, you made me look for the rille system, which I haven't paid attention before. This is such a nice way to learn about the surface of the Moon.
  12. Thanks @Kon, after capturing Venus, doing the Moon is such a pleasure 🫢
  13. Hi all, Yesterday after struggling to capture some UV data of Venus, before giving up for the early night, I decided to relax for a while by taking a look at The Moon. Two features captured my attention: Rima Hyginus with its trail of impacts (center right): Crater Maginus showing quite dramatic shadows (top left): The gear: Sky-Watcher Skymax 180 PRO RB Focus Merlin 3.0 Astronomik L2 UV-IR Block Risingcam GPCMOS02000KMA Sky-Watcher HEQ5 The software: CdC FireCapture Autostakkert RegiStax The Gimp Thanks for looking, NV
  14. Hi all, It's still possible to get not-so-terrible images of Venus in UV, this one is from yesterday at about 7:30pm: The gear: Sky-Watcher Skymax 180 PRO RB Focus Merlin 3.0 Baader Bessel U-Filter Risingcam GPCMOS02000KMA Sky-Watcher HEQ5 The software: CdC FireCapture Autostakkert RegiStax The Gimp Thanks for looking, NV
  15. Yes It is, one can only hope for an extra clear night...
  16. Hi all, Today there were no clouds until the early evening, so I could capture some not too bad UV data: The gear: Sky-Watcher Skymax 180 PRO RB Focus Merlin 3.0 Baader Bessel U-Filter Risingcam GPCMOS02000KMA Sky-Watcher HEQ5 The software: CdC FireCapture Autostakkert RegiStax The Gimp Thanks for looking, NV
  17. Hi all, This morning I was lucky to capture a quick picture of The Moon and Jupiter quite close to each other: Canon 600D + Canon EF 55-250mm, 1/30 F4.0 ISO100. Thanks for looking, NV
  18. Hi @neil phillips, I saw it this morning as well (Jupiter "close" to the Moon, I mean) and took this quick picture with my Canon 600D and a Canon EFS 55-250mm lens: I though you would like to see it :-).
  19. This is an APOD worthy image @Kon, do consider send It for its publication (maybe adding the data of each capture). NV
  20. Hey @Kon, It has been an insparation to follow your posts on Venus these months. Best regards, NV
  21. Hi all, Finally, the clouds have opened enough to try capturing some UV data: The gear: Sky-Watcher Skymax 180 PRO RB Focus Merlin 3.0 ZWO 5x1.25" Electronic Filter Wheel Baader Bessel U-Filter Risingcam GPCMOS02000KMA Sky-Watcher HEQ5 The software: CdC FireCapture Autostakkert RegiStax The Gimp Thanks for looking, NV
