Skywatcher Startravel 80 OTA

Recommended Posts

The ST80's are used by loads of people as guidescopes. Unfortunately though, for actual imaging the ST80 being an achromat suffers from Chromatic Abberation. If you want a small scope that can do double duty, I'd go for an William Optics ZentihStar 66. I use one for imaging and guiding and it's superb .

Bang per buck the ST80 a neat small scope.

I upgraded the focuser to a 2" crayford and use it with my QHY5 for guiding.

I agree that it's "optically" challenged when compared with my ED80 etc but certainly nice to have!
