Cartes du ciel

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!
I have the EQ6R PRO mount. Yesterday I did in a new location astrophotography, but in the ASCOM I didn't change the time/date/location.
I just connected the mount to Cartes du ciel, and then NINA also to Cartes. My question is, why although I didn't change anything in the settings of the new location, Cartes du ciel knew how to find the telescope and bring the telescope to a good slew to the target? How Cartes du ciel knew how to do it without any GPS or anything from the date/time location setting (that I didn't change anything!)
PS. Everything went great!, just curious how did it happen
Thanks!!!

Ok! So and then if the target change its location (because I changed my location), the plate solve should work and slew to the correct coordinate!

So at the beginning, cartes du ciel use the default coordinate that it have (my house), but the RA/DEC don't change from location to location. So if it's the right position of the object, it's start to image, if it's not then the plate solve "should tell it", and then go to the right position of the object?

You also wrote that CDC take it's time and date from the PC, how about the elevation, and all the other stuff? From the default settings that I used last time? And if it's good enough it use it and if not, I will need to change it to the right one?

Thanks!!!!!
