themos
Hello, I wonder if anyone has had any experience with the EQAlign program. I'm tempted to start using it for polar alignment, at least. Does PHD help with polar alignment, too?http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=172278
Sam
Another promising application. have you got it working?
George
Tried it ages ago but it kept crashing my PC, Im waiting on a newer release.
themos
I haven't even downloaded it. I thought I'd stick with astrosnap for polar alignment and general fiddling about but this one looks like it has a cleaner interface (but no english language manual). beamish
My pleasure chaps ! Don't forget to post how you get on- I may be tempted, though currently I use the eqmod polar align. Does a magnificent job, but not designed to do the drift align type alignment that this does.Karlo:happy11:
Reggie
Thanks Karlo, I may or may not use it at all, I don't tend to use any polar alignment routines, not sure if it's cos I'm lazy or whether it's because I don't see a pressing need, that coupled with the fact that I've probably been out twice in the last 6 weeks I tend to clutch onto my 'astro' time under dark skies and use it purely for imaging. Still, I did this with EQMod, I was resistant to installing and using it to start off with as the HEQ5 Synscan mount performs well enough with autoguiding + I wanted to learn how to use the synscan so I could appraise how good EQMod actually is (very). beamish
I've not used it yet for similar reasons, it appears to take up a bit of time. Eqmod polar align does a great job and when added to eqmod, guiding I can't really see a pressing need.
Reggie
looks like there is a fair bit of setup involved, although I'm guessing once you've put all the scope/site stuff in you don't have to repeat that part, just push the go button. Beyond_Vision
Thanks Karlo I will take a look when I get accepted by the Yahoo group. That was one hell of a painful process. I find it really annoying how much carp they want to know just to take a look at a forum.RegardsKevin
beamish
Sorry Kevin, I assumed you were already a member, but yes they do require a fair bit of info.Had I known I could have posted them to you via email. I do think you;ll find being a member of the group useful though.Karlo
