After returning the Hawke APO 8x42s, I've replaced them with these. Had a quick look earlier during the day, no blackouts when viewing however I found the CA very obvious!

Leaving judgement until i get them under the stars.

I finally managed to get these binoculars under the stars,  I would say they are sharp out to 80% from the center, I find myself looking at the center of the view anyway and moving my head rather than scanning the FOV.  No blackouts or any obvious CA on the brighter stars and very comfortable to hold for long periods.   I also felt the FOV was less restrictive than the Hawke 8x42 APO and provided a more enjoyable viewing experience, Think I will be holding onto these....

First light was Nova R Ophuchi.. a first for me.
