So, we just had a new Star Adventurer mount delivered after a 4 month wait.  Used it a couple of times, and now the screw port that the DSLR cable sits in has fallen off.  Part has gone inside the mount, and we have the other bit.  How can we fix this, ideally without taking it apart? We don't want to invalidate the warranty.  Please help, we're really depressed about this.

Do you mean the DSLR Snap port ?

Can you fish for the socket with a slim screwdriver or stiff wire, to renter it into the hole in the mount ?

Then holding it in place, rescrew the nut back on.

While still loose. plug in the DSLR cable  to hold the socket in place, and fully tighten the nut.

Well, lets see….

if you poke a metal implement into a hole near electricity there is the risk of shorting something out - and causing damage to the electronics.

If you manage to hit both terminal of a capacitor, these can hold charge for a long time, it can discharge very quickly and you get magic smoke.image.png.d42ca3d5df853f54b69bab69127b9048.png

Just don’t put metal near electricity.

Always think worst case scenario; and you’ll still not get close to the actuality.
