help with unknown sighting

I have just observed a bright orange object with a smaller/fainter companion object moving NE going due south , i picked it up just below the handle of the plough and watched it untill it faded into the south.

It passed quite low as i was viewing the moon with my C6 at the time, caught it out of the corner of my eye comming from my left , followed it in my finder scope with the clutches dissengaged, screwed up my goto but hey was worth it.

Location leicester 52 degrees N

Time aprox 20:50

Can anyone help with what it was or has anyone else seen this ?

Maybe one of those Chinese laterns...? They can look quite odd!

Noticed on the BBC news website that a brand new spyplane had landed at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire. dont know if thats anywhere near you ( not too familiar with English geography) .....But on second thoughts, if it was a spy plane , bright lights would defeat the purpose. :oops:

maybe you saw some of the debris from the satellite collision. The NASA release said they're expecting most of the debris to burn up in the atmosphere.
