Solar prominence - 21st April 2021

I managed a quick look at the sun this evening in both Ha and Whitelight, before it disappeared below the rooftops. Not bad views given the low altitude, some granulation and detail in the ARs in WL, and the filaprom has rotated into a filament now, showing as a nice arch. The ARs weren’t showing as well as yesterday, likely due to the low altitude of the sun, but there was also a nice pair of filaments near the opposite limb, on an angle but parallel if that makes any sense. I’ve circled them, and the prom/filament in this image from Gong.

The prominence near the filament is large and detailed, and I managed to capture it using my phone, plenty of duff frames discarded but this one looked ok. I used ProCam 8 to capture it on my iPhone 11 Pro, using the x2 camera. I then processed it a bit in OS Express. Obviously the actual view is much better, and you can’t see the filament in this image but overall I’m quite pleased with it.
