Moon occulting star w2 Tau

Hello. Just been getting some very nice lunar views and slowly got transfixed as star - hope I’ve got this correct using SS - w2tau was occulted by the moon. 
Surprised how quickly it disappeared !!

Nice one. I love seeing them disappear into thin air like that, behind the dark limb of the Moon. Because they are effectively point sources, they blink out in an instant. Very cool!

I had a view of a fairly bright star being occultated behind the dark limb.  I've not checked which star it was yet, but it blinked out at 9.40pm approximately.

Looks like the same star Paul, Omega2 Tauri which occulted at 9:38, and 23 seconds to be precise (😉) from your location. I didn’t see it but it would have happened two minutes earlier ‘down South’. Amazing how much difference it makes.

BTW, I just stuck a pin in Oakworth on the map and came up with Grange Cottage, Station road. Near you?

I caught this accidentally last night, although seeing was affected by a neighbours chimney. My first ever occultation! Amazing to see the motion of the moon.

Saw it approaching then engrossed myself with a close and detailed look at Cleomedes and managed to miss the magical moment! 

Great conditions though after so many cloudy skies.

I don't know Grange Cottage, but Station Rd is only about 200 yards away on the way to the village centre.  The station it refers to is Oakworth Station on the Worth Valley steam railway.  If you've ever watched 'The Railway Children' you've been there- well, sort of 😄.
