Skywatcher SynScan Hand Controller.

Anyone had issues with updating the firmware on a SynScan controller?  I connect with a USB Type B cable from PC to the HC and follow the instructions to update the firmware (currently Version 4.39.04 ) but receive an error message "Can not connect with a SynScan Hand Control". Tried numerous times, disconnected and reconnected, but all to no avail. Any suggestions?

Do you need to update the firmware for any particular reason ? The reason I ask is sometimes it is best left alone if it is working satisfactory as updating may cause problems.

Unless you are experiencing issues with the use of the scope, specifically those listed under 4.39.10 and the GPS module the 4.39.15 covers then there is little point in flashing the hand controller.   IF you still want to go ahead, you may have to update to 4.39.10 before updating to the .15 version.

I'm sure that this has been the subject of a very recent post on here (with a solution) so if you really feel it's necessary to update the firmware it may be worth doing a search.
