A quick google and they seem to be listed on EU ebay sites... but no real reviews or wide spread use.  If you need a replacement handset then best to stick with a Skywatcher one suitable for your mount

Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing this may need a handset as well or connect with eqmod.

I think you're right. The controller appears to be an alternative to the motor control board. You would still need a Synscan handset or EQDIR cable.
