True in that there are lots of differences between camera's i.e. the canon ef mount is 44mm and the Nikon F mount is 46.5mm but with the T2 adapter it tends to add up to 55mm. It makes sense that you didn't use a spacer so with your T2 adapter to reducer its 55mm. Great picture by the way, if I could get anywhere near that I would be well happy.

Old topic but for future problems ... Nothing is needed if you have a reducer. Only thin pads between the reducer and the camera adapter. And it depends on the camera. For my Nikon D5100 it is about 3

how old is your 72ed? Is it the newer version? Ie shorter tube Mine had a sticker recommending using the camera rotator adaptor. Unfortunately I use the OVL field flattener and not the dedicated one y

Did you get this sorted? I've just taken delivery of a Skywatcher 72ED and OVL field flattener and have elongated stars around the edge of the image radiating out from the centre so believe I need some additional spacing between the field flattener and the camera?
