Solar image from the 18th October 2020 belated.

Hi all, just got around to processing some solar images taken in the 18th October 2020. While I was observing on the screen of the laptop during the imaging I did see a change around the spot as in the image and wasn't sure but convinced there was a small flare. Two images taken 25mins apart below suggest this. Hope I'm right, never witnessed a flare directly before if it was. spacer.png

Good catch!

You can check for flares in the solar event lists published by NOAA here: ftp://ftp.swpc.noaa.gov/pub/indices/events/

The README file explains the notation used. For instance, on 10/18 there were several B-class flares:

We're interested in XRA (X-ray event) and FLA (flare visible optically in Hα; I guess a FLA will usually have a corresponding XRA). Check your recording time to find out which was yours.

Might I ask what kind of equipment you use to get images like these? All I manage to get is a featureless round disc.
