Sigma 24mm F1.4 Art First Light

I've recently splashed out on a second hand Sigma 24mm lens F1.4. Its a lens I've wanted for a while but hadn't seen any decent 2nd hand examples until a couple of weeks ago. I had only used it during the day as I've been busy with DSO imaging this week.

Anyhow I had a crack at light painted foreground image stack with the Milky Way. It wasn't quite astro dark (about 40 mins before) but I had a go with it anyhow and I'm as pleased with its performance during the night as I am for day use.  Its a shame I couldn't get the Milky Way to pop but maybe next time.

 

Background 8 x 8 second subs @ F1.8 iso2500 stacked in Sequator.

Foreground light painted 5 x 5 second subs @ F3.5 iso800  stacked and blended with the background in Photoshop.

Everything seems to be working quite well there. I've seen mixed reviews of the Sigma but yours seems ok.

I hope you get out and do a few more soon. Looking forward to them,
