LaVey
Definatley a good start to the new year... did my first polar alignment with WCS, not sure if I did it right on the easterly star.. but got 60seconds without too much trailing. Took me 45 mins to do  . Not sure if i got the process right either.. but will keep plugging at it.. maybe something someone can help me out with at the SGL star party Had issues stacking in DSS (http://stargazerslounge.com/index.php/topic,37563.0.html), am sure I'm doing something wrong with this software! Anyway.. went back to nebulosity and had a go there, below is my efforts.. probably a little over processed for such a short amount of exposure - but it amazed me I got anything at all!10 x 60secs ISO 800, 20 x 30 secs ISO 400. Psychobilly
Nice first M45 I think One sub has been mis stacked as there are ghost stars at about 3 o'clock if you find it you may find the image will be even better...Billy...
MartinB
Great start you can be very pleased with that one. As far as your processing problems go, the think I notice is that it appears that the red appears slightly offset looking at some of the stars. I wonder if this could be related to the debayering algorithm used? Not familiar with DSS or nebulosity so can't help with that one though
