Town and City Observing - 1993 The Sky At Night

Still relevant advice...

This townie weilding a 6" reflector as recommended by Sir. P.M., an hour ago had his first interesting view of Mars this year.

The 150p with a 6mm planetary eyepiece cut through the so-so seeing and poor transparency. Revealing a prominent phase, fleeting glimpses of darkening shades at the Syrtis Major Planum/Noachis Terra regions and an obvious southern polar ice cap.🧐😁

Observing from a city can be frustrating but all is not lost. With perseverance and realistic expectations, sometimes things just come together to provide memorable moments.
