Hi @LDI can you point to some work of yours. It may help us to gauge how to respond to your request.

Hello Andrew,

I'm an environmental advocate that works in the pollution reduction sector, and I'm approaching this piece from the standpoint of environmental changes in stargazing because of COVID-19.

Hope this helps! It's a new field for me, as I typically write pieces about the impact of plastic pollution.

interesting-I guess it really has become a phenomena- there was an article in the Guardian Weekend mag last weekend about amateur telescope makers!

Nice article.  Made me laugh too, though.  The South African girl holding the folded 'frac (which looks an interesting piece in itself).  In the text she sounds really enthusiastic, but her face in the photo... If looks could kill, the photographer would be a smouldering cinder on the driveway :D

I liked the final quote- struck a chord with me and my ancient trusty dob 😉

Very true.  I'm certainly happy for people to be making beautiful telescopes (our own Tim Wetherell, for example, has been responsible for some outstanding examples), but if it doesn't get used then it's art, not astronomy.

What a great piece! Love the photos, and this also helps my fledgling research.
