Finally got out again last night after all the Christmas family/social stuff and the ensuing flu...

Horsehead and Flame: 4x300 sec + 6x 400sec - would have been more but Synscan was tempramental in the cold and Orion was then heading into the trees.

via 13nm Astronomik/SXV-H9/ WO ZS80II ED/ 0.8 Mk II flattener

on guided EQ6Pro/QHY5/ZS66/PHD.

Not sure how best to deal with Alnitak.

Lovey image :shock: I did a median stack rather thank an average when combining the images and it seemed to do a better job on Alnitak. Not criticising mind as it's a belter of an image.

Those bright stars are a royal PITA aren't they? With DSS, using entropy stacking seems best for the nebulosity, not sure what it does for the stars though. I found that stacking two images in Registar nicely got rid of the reflections from the bright stars, so perhaps one of the packages that do pixel maths (subtract/divide etc) would help.
