Faulty motor?

Can anyone tell if this motor is faulty or at least not setup properly?

It starts off ok, quiet ticking, and seems to track. but after a while it makes a few louder clicking noises and stops and jumps to the new position instead of a smooth tracking.  Then stops altogether. Restart works but then does it again.  

I made sure the clutch is tightened to the axis control and took off the RA axis slow-mo cable so I know that's not interfering.

What are you using for power?

Insufficient power such as a dodgy battery can cause these sort of problems.

Thanks.  I swapped out for some better quality batteries than the Aldi specials and seemed to help,  although not had a chance to test thoroughly yet.
