Thebit and Rupes Recta

Bit of an experimental setup, so I was more interested in just getting the kit working - but noticed this feature and couldn't resist giving it a go.

This was done with a 250mm F4 newt with camera at prime focus - as yet I don't have the focuser sorted so this was basically just sliding the camera in and out of the holder whilst looking at the screen! Miracle I got anywhere near focus!

Had a bit of fun and games figuring out what the target was - usually I have something in mind but this was just bimbling around until something looked interesting. I think it's NE up and flipped or rotated or inverted or all three. I didn't worry about camera orientation, and I think the camera driver has inverted the image.

F4 250mm newt with Omegon 385C 2x2 min runs, about 5ms exposure. Best 10%. The camera software doesn't do a log file so cant remember the settings exactly. Processed with PIPP, and AS!2, and PS. Probably oversharpened a bit.

Ideally I would compare this to something - I'd love to know how the optics are working - but I havent done this target before, so any comment or comparisons much appreciated.

Thanks for looking.
