there is still a large offset between where the telescope thinks it is in stellarium and where actually is in ASCOM.

Hit the 'synchronise' button to update stellarium. Now both will agree to the same position.

I dont know why this isnt in the manual.....!!!!

At least I cant see a plate solve section in the manual. Seems I have to go to The platesolve program and update "where is my location", Ive packed up now though :(

I'm not a stellarium user but if you're solving in sharpcap either it or both it and stellarium will have a 'sync' button. This is needed to do what you want; both mount and stellarium are at the same coordinates.

Nope. Im sorry Im using APT now and all is "working" but its still not adding up......

Is there by any chance I could pay someone for some of their time to WhatsApp video or similar to sort this please?

Its been hours (days?) and still no results.

Im happy to pay just need to get this sorted!!

Thanks

Personally, I'd stop worrying about absolute positioning, as even with my fixed and aligned mount, after slewing to a target, it may well be up to 1500 pixels away, as seen by the Plate Solver, but a few iterations of the solver will soon bring it on-target.

Im so excited and forever in debt to you

Also thank you so much to @alacant
