Another afternoon with Venus

The sky today is deep blue than I've seen for ages, so got the scope on Venus again. Lovely view of it in the 50 mm finder: tiny, but perfectly formed, crescent set against the blue sky (note: Sun well out of way).

Good views through the scope, but the seeing is decidedly unsteady at the moment. It's fairly breezy too, so that probably doesn't help.

Is the bracing tray for drinks? The sky really is fine this afternoon. Although it is I bit nippy for shorts on the bike, as I found out.

Whatever do you mean, Andrew?

The pop will definitely improve the seeing. I should have done that myself!  I've just come in after a 20minute session with the 10" thing with mirrors. Bitterly cold and a gritter drove past twice while I obseved. The seeing wasn't good, and trying to battle with a stupid Dobson mount while holding a sketch book and pencil and a biting cold wind blowing up my kilt, really isn't fun.  Did I mention, that Frac looks gorgeous by the way!
