M45 Venus transit

On April 3rd 2020 Venus passed through the Pleiades Star cluster. At 20:20 UTC I made images of Venus in the Pleiades and combined this image with an earlier image that I took of the Pleiades with the same setup.

This is the result showing Venus during its transit through the Pleiades.

Very nice image.  I must say it's kinda cheating just a tad, isn't it?  😉 It's a pity the moon has to spoil the show tonight.  Otherwise you could have got that tonight maybe.

It depends what you call cheating of course. If we combine images from several nights it's fully accepted, isn't it in deep sky astrophotography? I did take the images of the M45 with Venus (very short 1s exposures!) and just overlaid it onto the earlier image aligning the stars. So yes, it's not fully made tonight, but I can say that almost not a single image is taken during one night :) (I do understand your point btw :) )

Yeah, yeah. Don't feel I'm criticising. I've done similar things myself with pictures of comets. It's the illusion of something not seen. But then maybe nearly all astrophotography is that anyway.

I was quite disappointed when I looked at Venus tonight. I could barely make out Pleiades by eye and even through binoculars  it was less than overwhelming simply because of the presence of such a bright Moon.

So you're image is as I would like to imagine it.
