Glow in Images

Hi,

I have taken my first photo with my new HEQ5 Pro and I'm happy with my first attempt, however, there there is a glow in the centre of the image which I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with avoiding in my future photos. The only editing I have done with the image is set the black and white points. Thanks.

Thats a nice image of M81 M82 NGC3077.

Looks like vignetting.  This is a normal feature of images taken through a telescope.  

Try taking flats, and when applied to the image above, the glow in the middle will disappear and you have will a more evening illumination.

Thats what I thought it was. I have a question about flats I will struggle to get them during the day as I heard you cant move the scopes orientation so would a white shirt over the lens and a laptop with a white screen held up to it work. Thanks for the help.

As long at the camera is left attached to the telescope in the same position as it was for imaging, you can take your flats in the house anytime after you have imaged at night.  I've used a laptop, ipad, LCD monitor in the method you describe and all work ok.

Indeed, that is how I take them, so I don't have to wait till dawn!
