Dark Energy a new explination

Hiya Guys just been reading this really interesting news article about research into Dark energy and what it is and how it effects the universe basically scientists now thing its a form of negative gravity that is repulsive rather than attractive ( that's the force not how it looks ) I have included a link to the article so you can read all the relevant info

Hasn't the idea of some form of replusive / negative / anti gravity force been around for a while? I'm sure I remember hearing something about it a few years ago.
