Planetary Imaging Books For Beginners

Recommended Posts

Hi

Im looking for any recommendations for a planetary imaging book for a beginner?

I’ll be using a 8 Edge HD scope, Altair GPCAM2 290C Colour Guide Astronomy Imaging Camera and a 2x Barlow lens.

I’ve read “Make Every Photon Count” for DSO, but now I’m interested in planetary imaging too.

Thank you

Ben

I don't think there is much choice of books dedicated to just planetary imaging. I would quite like to read this one though. Damien Peach also has a few DVD's out on the subject as well.

Thank you for coming to my rescue

I can’t actually find anyway of buying Christophe Pellier’s book. However I did manage to signup to his newsletter (Get successful Planetary images).

Reading through the thread under the advert, there is question asking about the English version in September. The response is "still working on it"

I received my copy last week, 288 pages of very detailed stuff inc hardware, definitely the most comprehensive and professional planetary imaging book to date (hadn't had time to read it properly  yet)

Hi Pete

Here is a teaser http://planetary-astronomy.com/index.php/preface/ for those who haven't seen it, read a couple of chapters, very good (nice glossy print, coffee table style book), even has  a chapter on telescope tuning and customisation, cameras, adc, uranus and neptune. http://planetary-astronomy.com/index.php/content/
