What do I need to connect and control a Meade LX600 by a pc

Recommended Posts

I used to have a meade LXd-75 Mount but that was over ten years ago and I can’t remember how I did it.

What do I need to buy to connect and control a 14” LX600 Mount using a PC.  What software would be suitable for selecting and centring different targets?

Thanks in advance

Adam

Unless you have a RS232 port on your PC/laptop, you'll need a USB to RS232 Serial Converter to connect to tooth's second option, ones with a genuine not Chinese copy Prolific chipset is recommended.

Then most Planetariums will connect to a Meade mount, some may need to install the ASCOM Platform and the ASCOM Meade LX driver.
