Horse Head with SW 10" Quattro (Bi-colour)

Recommended Posts

Taking advantage of clear skies and no Moon,  I loaded the heavy guns on the EQ6  and looked at the Winter constellations for some medium small DSOtargets.

Here is the Horse Head Nebula ( IC 434 )   imaged in  Hydrogen Alpha and Oxygen III.

Due to local foliage I could only get  14 x 1min on each channel, but the region is bright in Ha and the mighty Quattro hoovered up those photons.

Details.    Atik 414mono ( -20'C)   14 x 1 min  ( Ha and O3 )    with   SW 10" F4  on  Eq6.

Regards,

Sean.

Thanks Adam.

A longer focal length avoids the intrusion of Alnitak and consequently a whole world of pain with regards processing.    Being a 'dark' cloud, it lends itself easily to my amateur efforts with regard to PS.

Look forward to seeing how your Epsilon gets on with this region in the coming months.

Sean.
