Hi Ahlberto,

I've not used one and don't know anyone who has.

Down sides that I can think of would be - cost, extra glass surfaces, tube currents, cool down time, dewing and extra weight.

If it's to get rid of spikes, you could give it a go or use a curved vane spider.

But don't let me put you off. Sounds interesting enough.
