Veil Nebula Mosaic - when things work out......

After  a lot of faffing identifying a temperamental Autoguider port on my  NEQ6,  then learning to use the EQMOD suite at an introductory level to circumvent this.

I finally had a punt at some DSO's  where I can actually leave it to capture data and I can grab a cup of tea without  streaky  subs .

Here is the Veil Nebula taken with an ATIK 414ex  with my  Orion Optics 6F4 Newtonian.  Went for the narrowband option as the Moon was dominating and catching some high cloud.

Quite like getting the whole 'Broom' so this necessitated a 2 frame mosaic.  .... and lo and behold it kinda worked.

30mins each waveband Ha,O3,S2  composed from 2min subs.        Stacked in DSS,  fettling with PS.

Oh, I forgot to mention  that I used a Sky-Watcher f4 Aplanatic Coma Corrector on this sequence.    Tried  some  experimental subs on the Wizard Nebula and noticed a degree of elongation off axis.

These shots are only cropped by about 2% on the horizontal and 5% on the vertical axes with about  20% overlap around the bright central star  ( 52 Cygni).
