what is it ?

Hi I was looking through my pictures from a couple of months ago after a night out trying to get Orion nebular

I had it set up to take 1 pic every 5 seconds for 10 mins to try that.

 I decided just to pack up as clouds cover came over.

I did not think it was worth looking at my attempt.

About 3 days ago I decided to clear out my pc  junk, run the downloads and saw this.

It does look as though it is not in focus but do not know what the round thing is on  the edge?

I might  Have been auto aligning to looki at betalguise when I decide to pack up.

I will have to see what else is in the files

It looks like the sort of blobs I get when I am way out of focus, but the rest of the picture shows small stars/galaxies suggesting it is in focus.  But it looks pretty huge for Betelgeuse, so I think it must be an out of focus "blob" which I presume are dust bunnies in the light train.

I think it's an out of focus star with a dust mote at the edge. I don't think the smaller stars are in focus, personally. Thee are hot pixels showing, though.

It’s a bit perplexing. At that time and date, most of Orion will have been below the horizon at your location, so I wonder if you’d been imaging Orion earlier on and this was a frame taken as you packed up, or somewhere else in the sky? Betelgeuse would have been only 10 degrees above the horizon by that time.
