DSS washed out grey?

Hi all,

I know this is a very stupid question, but is it fine for the result of a 51 frame stack of the milky way to look all washed out? I heard DSS sometimes does this. How do I fix it!! (If I can 😂)

Levels in Photoshop (or whatever app you use) - you want to adjust the black level so its inline with the start of the histogram

Thank you so much! I'll do it in Lightroom then move it to Photoshop for some Detail Extractor

That's showing more colour. It looks as though flats haven't been used in stacking. Using flats really helps with targets having gradual variation in brightness as the true variation comes through. Any chance of adding flats if they have not not already been added?

Possible but it's best taking them right after the light frames!
