Skypod 110

There was a skypod sitting on the desk when i was last at Orion Optics in Crewe. I had a good look around it and it seems a nice device. Quite small, but looks sturdy enough to be of use. Solid metal construction with a similar controller to the Sphinx mount. Apparently it will take up to a 150mm Newt, 140mm Mak or a 120mm Refractor if you mount it on a tripod rather than the table top mount. I think with a small mak or frac it would make an excellent grab n go scope, perfect for holidays etc. My only concern is it's a little over priced at £700. But then for a decent GOTO mount, you get what you pay for.

Like most of these newfangled electrickery scopes you pay priemuim for the "Starbook" for that price you could get yourself a nice Newtonian on a good stable mount.

Anyone seen my brolly........
