GordonCopestake
There was a skypod sitting on the desk when i was last at Orion Optics in Crewe. I had a good look around it and it seems a nice device. Quite small, but looks sturdy enough to be of use. Solid metal construction with a similar controller to the Sphinx mount. Apparently it will take up to a 150mm Newt, 140mm Mak or a 120mm Refractor if you mount it on a tripod rather than the table top mount. I think with a small mak or frac it would make an excellent grab n go scope, perfect for holidays etc. My only concern is it's a little over priced at £700. But then for a decent GOTO mount, you get what you pay for.
FLO
Anyone had a go with a Skypod yet ?..... Oh, that Skypod 110http://www.orionoptics.co.uk/acatalog/skypod.htmlNope, not tried it. Can't see the point of a table-top tripod; it'd have to be a very small table to enable you to walk around it; so small in fact that it might as well be a tripod!
