Ah, my bad, misread the Title...  

If your guiding chugs along at 1arcsec/pixel, then +/- 0.5 would be quickest, less than that would be more certain. 

So depends on the quality of your guiding and how long you want to wait!

0.2 for 5 secs. At low altitude I usually use 0.3 at 5 secs or it can take too long. I found at shorter times there is a good chance of it starting to image before it's fully recovered from a Dec dither.
