2 x barlow

Hey team, i am looking for a 2x barlow any recommendations? Are they all the same?

They are not all the same, but the one you have linked is actually very nice optically despite being a relatively low price. The downsides are that it only has a screw to hold the eyepiece and the lens cell may or may not be threaded for filters. 

Powermates/focal extenders have a few advantages in that they won't vignette wide field eyepieces, the magnification is constant across eyepieces and eye relief isn't extended. However, the cheapest is three times the price of the linked barlow.

Optically those are quite good, better than you might expect for the price.

I think the lens cell (the black bit on the bottom end of the silver part) is not threaded for filters as Ricochet says. As long as you have some where else to fit filters when you use them (eg: the end of the eyepiece barrel) it might not be a big issue.

Thank you guys gonna give it a go cant go wrong for the price and if you say the optics are good then its a win win

I have a Skywatcher 1.25mm Barlow

Most barlows only hace a single securing screw

The one I have also has thread for T-adapter, and able to screw in filters

Retailed for $49 down under
