Planetary Imaging with an ATIK 161c

Would this ccd be any good for planetary imaging or is only good for DSO's ??

Fine for both, just set the exposure times to suit the target.

I have an Atik like yours and use it mainly for DSO because I have also have a DMK 21 which knocks the spots off Atik for Lunar & Planetary being video.

OK I think this thread has answered a question before asking.

So the Atik is the best entry level dso cam?

and what would be the best for lunar planetary? does the DMK21 give much better results than a phillips web cam?

I've got the Atik 16ic, DMK21 and various webcams.

The DMK appears to be a better performer due to the faster frame rates than webcam ( same resolution but mono).
