Well, that’s a long shot considering we don’t know when you were looking at Sirius. if it was a meteor, you may have seen it next to Sirius but, someone looking at Sirius on the other side of the country  would not have seen it From the same POV next to Sirius. Considering Meteoroids burn up in the atmosphere so quickly, it’s hard to imagine you’ll find anyone who saw it the instant you did.

Must have missed it. Can you remember roughly what time you saw it.  How did it move, gone in a flash or did it stay in view for more than a few seconds. Did it leave a trail or stay as a point of light.  What direction was it moving.  Any colour noticed.
