Sunshine Posted February 28, 2019 Share Posted February 28, 2019 Well, that’s a long shot considering we don’t know when you were looking at Sirius. if it was a meteor, you may have seen it next to Sirius but, someone looking at Sirius on the other side of the country would not have seen it From the same POV next to Sirius. Considering Meteoroids burn up in the atmosphere so quickly, it’s hard to imagine you’ll find anyone who saw it the instant you did. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Geoff Barnes Posted February 28, 2019 Share Posted February 28, 2019 I quite often see satellites passing through the field of view when observing the region of sky around Orion and Sirius. How did it move, gone in a flash or did it stay in view for more than a few seconds. Did it leave a trail or stay as a point of light. What direction was it moving. Any colour noticed.
