Seagull and Thor's Helmet

Recommended Posts

Last night I tried a bit of hedge hopping.  I managed a total of 55 minutes of "branch free" imaging on Thor's Helmet and the Seagull Neebula (SH2-296).

The top half is 4 x 300s Ha subs and the bottom half is 3 x 600s Ha.   It clearly demonstrates the difference in size between different objects.  If I ever want to take a proper image of Thor's Helmet, then I need to image at  1000m or more.

Equipment used:  FSQ106ED,  STL6303 on EQ6 with EQMOD.   Calibration in CCDStack, Mosaic in the Gimp.

I've also shown a screenshot from CdC that accurately shows where they are in the sky.
