A type II supernova named SN2018hna (discovered in late October) has been brightening recently (up to Mag 13.7)

It is well positioned in UGC7534 which is located next to the handle of the Plough in Ursa Major.

Here are the details...

Should be one to have a go at in the next two weeks although the brightness may start to fall off soon...

Thanks for posting. That is two high observable SN at the moment. NGC3254 being the other.

This one has really taken its time to get going. It is now on my ‘must view’ list for next the outing!

I managed to see SN 2018hna in UGC7534 last night at 0220am. :)

I was using the 20” and my night vision device. I got a nice star pattern match on the surrounding stars (from a sketch) which was a good job as I did not see anything of the galaxy disk (which can be seen in images).
