Jan23
Good Evening, I'm hoping I've posted in the right place for help. This is my first post I'm hoping for some help regarding a pair of binoculars I've inherited and was advised to contact yourselves. I have very little information but here goes. What I do know is the make is Golva, super zof, coated optics 10x50, 262ft at 1000yds No. 81600 There is also a 'passed' sticker and Japan KY. I was interested to know who made Golva and how old they maybe. Thanks in advance Jan
PeterW
On the front of the hinge are there any little stamped letters or numbers... can help ID old Japanese bins. An image would help too. Peter

plyscope
I guess the zcf refers to "z" for the light path through the prisms and "cf" for centre focus.

ZCF = Zeiss centre focus (Zeiss is the body design: the objective tubes screw into the prism housing. The other variant is BCF: B= Bausch & Lomb; the objective tubes and prism housings are a single casting.). But I also vaguely recall reading somewhere that a number of Japanese binocular manufacturers sourced their prism housings from the same source; that could be the reason for the similar appearance.
