Synscan: Allview controllable by normal synscan?

Asking for a friend..... 

They want to use a synscan handset which currently has the Allview firmware on it for an EQ6.  If we update firmware to the latest release will that work for both?  I know it will work for other Alt Az, but is the Allview is a bit different?

I think the Allview firmware has some extra functions for making panoramic photos. Not sure that it will operate an EQ mount though. You can always reflash the handset back to the Allview firmware.
