light pollution issues

Well last year the council changed all the street lights to led's which kind of helped in  the garden.  From my local point of view its good but I believe the bigger picture is not so good.

Next the hotel adjacent to my house has a car part with two dirty great lights over looking my garden. These were  painted black at the back to reduce the light pollution when installed several years back, however recently this paint has all flaked off. So I dropped int hotel this aft and had a friendly chat with them. The maintenance guy will be hiring a cherry picker to repaint the lights for me to block out the light. If I see him doing it I will ask him to do the one thats further back in the car park but blacking that would be a bonus ??.

Still no substitute for a dark sky but just to lose the light coming in from car park would make a huge difference to garden viewing.

Ask nicely is the lesson here, ?
