Focuser replacement for Omni 120 ‘frac.

Recommended Posts

Anyone use one of these on a refractor OK? Want a higher payload focuser to replace the bog standard Crayford focuser I have on my Celestron Omni 120mm ‘frac, but don’t want to get to silly money time really, so this looks like it might do. Any feedback if anyone has or used one successfully would be welcome. Plan to have a Vixen flip mirror with an EP, and a Canon 4000d in the lower flip mirror section when I use the scope on my AVX Mount.

Have used both the refractor and SCT versions of the focuser and while it does work quite well and handle a reasonable load when new it does tend to start suffering from wear related problems fairly quickly. The Baader Steeltrack  is far, far better quality and doesn’t suffer from wear problems. Well worth the extra money.
