NGC 6888 - a "first light" target...

I chose the Crescent Nebula (NGC 6888) in Cygnus to try out my new imaging set-up last Sunday evening.  A high haze and horrendous dew stopped me from gathering the OIII data I wanted, so the images below are the result of 20 x 300s using a Baader 7mm H-alpha filter, with 20 darks and flats.  The first image is the full frame output from my shiny new Atik 460EX, with the second being a crop of the Crescent itself.

The full frame image does show up the slightly eggy stars in the corners, meaning I probably need to tune up the camera back-spacing a bit. I am very pleased with the sensitivity and noise characteristics of the 460EX, even though the warm weather restricted me to a camera cooling set-point of only -5 degrees.

Any comments or suggestions welcome...
