Ok so bois, I've just picked up the scope this weekend, sadly, the weather hasn't let me use it yet. I've been reading the manual, and learning how to use it.

tonight instead of being cloudy, its going to be only partly cloudy. I'm going to try get some views of the moon.

Ill let you guys know how it goes.

Good luck! There's a lot to learn, so take your time.

Rough polar alignment and balancing your scope on the mount are your first steps.

You may be in luck to see Venus, Mercury & Jupiter, as they will all be in the southern skies, and as the moon is waxing, may not be too bright....

I have a patch of sky between my house and the one across the street that could give me a view of some planets

First night went very well, i was able to see the moon in great detail, I then saw Jupiter, I also saw 4 of Jupiter's moons, and some of its stripes. after a While Saturn came around and i got a good view of the ring. 

(I wasn't able to get the full potential of this scope because the max magnification with the lenses supplied is x150)

I only got off because I was getting tired.
