Sol in white light 30 June 2018

Up until now I have been imaging the sun using a Celestron Nexstar 6SE. Having recently purchased a William Optics Z61, I was keen to see what this scope would produce even though the sun disc was blank yesterday. Focus was so much easier to achieve with the 1:10 dual speed micro focuser compared to the Nexstar and also had the benefit of a full disc image.

Taken and processed as follows;

William Optics Zenithstar 61 with my DIY Baader solar filter attached.

ZWO ASI120mm-s; 4.5ms exposure

Baader IR/UV cut filter

Baader Solar Continuum Filter

1,000 captures in AVI format, stacked in AutoStakkert with best 30% used then a bit of fiddling in Photoshop with Levels and Unsharp Mask.

Thanks for looking.
